Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  When should I pay dues?

Paying in the fall of the year is best for budgetary reasons.  However, you can pay your dues anytime within our fiscal year.  The fiscal year runs from July 1 until June 30.  Please try to pay your dues by Founder's Day (March).

Q.  What is the calendar year for the Birmingham alumnae chapter?

The calendar (fiscal) year runs from July 1, 2005 until June 30, 2006.

Q.  How much are annual dues?

We have four payment levels:

Bronze - $35
Pink - $45
Blue - $55
Anchor - $65 or more

Any member paying at the Blue or Anchor level will receive special recognition at Founder's Day for their contribution.

Q.  Can I attend events if I have not yet paid dues?

Yes, all Delta Gamma sisters are welcome to attend all chapter events.  We encourage dues payment because it allows us the opportunity to continue offering fun and educational opportunities for alumnae.

Q.  Where do my dues go?

Dues payment are used as follows:
  • $19 is forwarded to Executive Offices in Columbus, OH to support the work of our headquarters.
  • The remainder is retained by the Birmingham Alumnae Chapter to cover the costs of programming, mailings, etc.  Also, community service and Foundation initiatives are covered by dues paid.
Q.  Who do I contact to get involved?

You can register using our online form (click here).  Alternatively, you can contact our vp: Membership, Meredith McCrorie for additional details.

Q.  Can I bring a non-ΔΓ friend to an event?

No.  Alumnae events provide us the opportunity to strengthen the bonds of sisterhood that link all Delta Gamma's.

Q.  How do I join the Yahoo! group BirminghamDG's?

Send an e-mail to: birminghamdgs-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

Q.  I would like to meet more ΔΓ sisters.  How do I go about doing this?

Send an e-mail to one of our officers and let them know.  They will put you in touch with a sister from your chapter and also invite you to attend an event with them so you can meet a lot of sisters.

Q.  What's an Aunt Hannah?

The Aunt Hannah program is a fun and exciting new way to get involved with our chapter collegians (Zeta Xi and Zeta Nu).  As an Aunt Hannah, you will be paired up with a collegian for the school year.  You are encouraged to support your "niece" -- i.e., meeting for coffee, going to the movies, sending midterm and final exam care packages, or making periodic phone calls.  Contact Meredith McCrorie for more information on the Aunt Hannah program.
